Hey there! Welcome back to Espanglisher.
Today would have been my grandfather, Papa Joe’s birthday. A wonderful grandfather who would literally bounce us on his knees. By knees I mean thighs, though in his case he had quite short legs so it was all one. I was always Little Jo, and I have an Aunty Jo in the mix too. I say this for no other reason than to give a shout out to all the Jos and Joes out there, (yes the first spelling is for a girl, the second for a boy). Just because. Or, as we say in Spanish, porque sí (because yes).
Anyway, the Podcast and the Blog are back. We’ll be getting into gear from the 18th of October, with new weekly posting (sometime) on Fridays.
This season, we’ll be continuing to muse about English and Spanish words, language and culture, in English and from time to time in Spanish, but with a slightly different format… I hope it will be of interest to English and Spanish listeners alike. On the podcast we’ll have ABCs of words and phrases, interviews and musings, and on the blog, flash fiction and articles.
